another trip to the circus

Coincidentally, the circus has come to KL, too. no, this is not the royal london circus but rather a musical ensemble at the MPO - a family funday where kids, young & old, are encouraged to attend, with affordable seats to boot (prices start from RM10).

so that was how we spent this sunday afternoon. after a short drive, we're at the dewan philharmonik petronas again. the almost-full auditorium was noisy with kids & their parents (oh, there were adults who came on their own as well) but things settled down once the performance started. it was obvious that some of the younger ones were getting restless halfway through the show, perhaps because there was more music than actual effective interaction with the audience. kids have such short attention span, so interaction & participation keeps them interested & attentive. i did learn a few tricks though - you can mimic a cow's moo with a cello & an elephant's trumpet with a ...er... trumpet.

the other thing i discovered was that the times bookstore has some pretty good bargains at their stock clearance at sect 13. look at what i got....

J Archer at RM8 apiece & C Ahern at RM26.

can you get any cheaper?

Jeffrey Archer at RM8 apiece. Man, that's a great bargain. Have not read Cecelia Ahern yet.

hi again alex!

it was fortuitous that i read abt the stock clearance in the sunday papers, or else i wouldn't have known abt it. yeah, they're real bargains, aren't they?

a fellow blogger, me, made a comment on my post "brand loyalty", mentioning cecelia ahern's PS I Love You. i liked the title (altho not knowing anything abt the novel) bcos it reminded me of an old, old Beatle's song.

I missed the times sale. =( Even though I was back that weekend. I think.

anastasia,

the sale apparently had been going on for 2 weeks, & last sunday was the last day. i think it's an annual event bcos i've read about it previously but that was the 1st time i've been there.

except for the prison series, i think i have the rest of archer's work now.

hmmm.....3 books i've read and liked. ok, u got my approval chop, we seem to like the same author/books. the prison series are not as boring as i thought it would be - cos you get to see the other side of life. on the other hand, his books after being released from prison is a tad tedious. :-) i miss sidney sheldon's earlier works. sigh.

I have a strange feeling that we enjoy the same kind of books. Perhaps we could meet up one of these days to exchange some books, read them say over a year and then, return it once we are done. I have an addiction to books and last count, I may have breached the 500-book mark :)

Andrea,

some authors just have universal appeal - maybe that's why we read the same books. even so, i stick to the same few authors & hence, my collection is limited.
