a milestone & a mistake

July 16, 1984 :
1st day on the job as a Houseman, Penang General Hospital.

i survived.

July 16, 2008 :
even though the patient had told me she was allergic to that pain-killer, i inadvertently injected it when she had pain.

she survived.

i survived, again.

The LORD will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life;
The LORD will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.
psalms 121:7,8

Were you too preoccupied to listen to her?

iml,

i listened. i noted that down even.

somewhere along, hours later, i got distracted & totally forgot the allergy.

she developed a rash after that which resolved without further treatment, & if she sued me, i'm guilty as charged.

period.

Isn't it so comforting to know that the Lord is there for us through thick and thin? He will make sure that no tribulations or trials are too difficult for us to bear.

Read my blog..july 16 significant also, but not for me.

Great to be reminded God is our Refuge and Strength ...always!

Does patient know you made a mistake and was she forgiving?

just me,

when the patient woke up from general anaesthesia, the rash she had earlier developed as a result of the injection had largely subsided.

she didn't realise what had happened & i left it at that.
