DVD weekend

i would assume that most people would buy DVDs of movies that they have not seen at the cinema. but not me - i would watch the movie at the cinema 1st & if i like it, i would buy the DVD version for keepsake, & to savour it at leisure later.

this weekend we were planning to visit the daughter but since she has school activities, we decided to stay put & visit another weekend. that's when i thought i'll have my own movie marathon with these 3 classics (well, 2 out of 3 isn't bad).

missing, however, are a home theatre system & some popcorn.

Wow, really missed That Thing You Do! Like the song very much as well. Three are the classic movie. I got the VCD collection bought when in college time as cannot afford DVD.

There are just some movies that you never get tired of watching over and over again. My favourite:"You've got mail"
While youngest just can't get enough of the movie "Parent Trap"

Yap, these are the classic, the Rain Man, the Silence of the Lamb, but i am not to sure about this That thing you do,has it got to do with the song that goes something like this. " You, doing the things you do........"

I remember Anthony Hopkins in the Lamb...

Superman,

i think That Thing You Do song was what that made the movie watchable. i like the central theme, though - loyalty to the group.

definitely a fun movie!

Iml,

SAHM asked if we had a double date, since it was a movie weekend for us.

You've Got Mail & Sleepless In Seattle are such lovey-dovey movies, & that Meg Ryan is so, so sweet!!

SAHM,

i guess Ling & i had the same idea - keep those classic movies for weekends such as this. & some you can just watch over & over & never tire of them!!

Ilene,

i rarely get weekends when i have no plans, that's when those DVDs come in handy.

Yan,

That Thing You Do is fun but don't watch Silence of the Lamb alone!! that Anthony Hopkins is real scary!!

STP,

i think i was in varsity when i saw it the 1st time & that time didn't appreciate the impact of the movie.

yes, Outbreak was an eye-opener - can't imagine a govt can sacrifice human lives for their own selfish ambition.
