a sobering start

i would like to have a good start - something nice, something happy to set an optimistic tone or mood for the rest of the year.

but it was not to be.

a patient i was watching over on new year's eve unfortunately developed serious complications & whose life now is hanging by a thread.

how precarious life is.....

& what thin line that separates the living from the dead......

but i have hope & assurance for the year & beyond....

because even though i journey through the valley of the shadow of death, His rod & His staff, they comfort me.....

and, His grace is sufficient for me.

Life is precarious, indeed. Hope your patient recovers soon.

Doc, best wishes for a happy new year and one filled with everything you wish for. Cheers!

Yes, we could lean upon the great fact: 'The Lord is my shepherd.'"

Before us is a new year, we are unsure of the future, but with us is a shepherd's love, protection, and care. To add on, if I may -

Thy way, O God, is holy.
What god is great like our God? (Psalms 77:13 RSV)

I couldn't have said it any better than Yan did. It's all in God's hands.

Psalm 23 comes to my mind :)

Despite 'HAPPY' making its rounds these past days, others predicament makes us having to be reservedly happy inwardly.

the song Dont worry be Happy doesn't seem to rock these days anymore.

Ilene,

Yan says the right things, doesn't she?

God has been doing the healing because the patient just woke up today.

MissyC,

inwardly happy is more true than outwardly happy, don't you think?

Well, you can view the patient waking up miraculously as an optimistic start for the new year.

When things are beyond out control, we can trust in God to lead us through.

doc said...

Adino,

shall post about the miraculous recovery.
