penang

penang is like an adoptive home for me.

i worked there for 4 years & i married a penangite. so when i am there, i feel quite at home. i still know my way around & where i can get great food. i also like the simple life there, except that the traffic drive me nuts sometimes.

and oh, the beach holds many a fond memory for me, too....heh heh!

yeah, i'm looking forward to going home this weekend. if only i had bought that house years ago when it didn't cost so much.....

the property prices there definitely jacked up coz outsiders making Penang 2nd home..

I thot your current "settlement" life is much more simpler plus the add on weekend/holiday traffic nightmare :D

Jean,

penang is a nice place for a vacation, but i'm not so sure about living there now.

Eugene,

be sure to let me know if you hear of a good deal....ha ha!

yeah, it's like walking down the green, green grass of home!

Iml,

ah yes, & at the end of that winding road is a restaurant called The End of the World, right?

Wenn,

thanks, i will!

MissyC,

i am quite settled where i am, the weekend traffic notwithstanding!

real estate is crazy - my bro-in-law just told me about some new
RM1m+ semi-Ds at the Quayside project.

I have also stayed in penang for a few years..travelled 40 minutes to work by ferry everyday.
Liked the food there but not the heat and traffic.
But as with any place, it is the warmth of the people that counts, right? Very sure you can testify to this.

Just me

JustMe,

yes, it's the warmth of the people & the simple life they lead there. i would have liked to stay, if not for the crowd & traffic.
