holding hands

kids hold each other's hands in friendship。

kids hold their parents' hands for guidance。

couples hold each other's hands in love。

protesters hold each other's hands for solidarity.

so, can i say a patient would hold the doctor's hand for comfort?

To remind the doctor that his/her life is in the doctor's hand! :)

Dear MissyC, SAHM, Wenn & Ilene:

doctors mean differently to different people, so thank you for the positive attributes you're mentioned.

even if the term Big White Shark is mentioned, as is used to describe a private hospital in Ipoh, that would not be inaccurate either.

Dr. Lekovic and Dr. Friedman would wait for me to regain consciousness in the ICU after surgery and hold my hand when I recognize them. They might have heaved a big sigh of relief too, just that I wasn't awake enough to notice. Hahah...

But when I had surgery at KLGH, the next time I saw my sugeon was one month after surgery. One wonders if he remembered me even. :P

Yvonne,

that's perhaps the difference between private & public healthcare.
