a step at a time

parents constantly warned their kids not to run, climb, fight, jump, etc. to avoid injury to themselves. most times, the kids disobey & most times, they get away with it.

except for this 9-yr-old boy, who ran up the staircase 3 steps at a time. a mis-step & a trip later....

.....resulted in this deformed forearm....
(note: the GP had impressively improvised a wooden splint, which immobilised the fracture & therefore, reduced pain)

.......while the xray confirmed 2 broken bones.

so remember, kids, God made parents for a reason! take care!

Kids will be kids... They'll never learn! But even the most careful may get involved in an accident...and the day may come when one is bedridden..., wishing that he/she is able to just take one step at a time.

That splint was ingenious! Where did the gp find a piece of wood in the clinic?!

STP,

accidents can & will occur even if we are careful, but we should reduce the possibility whenever we can.

like taking 1 step at a time.

Mich,

the boy put up on brave face & didn't cry at all, even after he woke up from the operation.

bravo!

Savante,

i wonder myself.

alternatively, rolled-up newspapers would be equally effective as splints.

Kids will never listen! The more you ask them not to run, the more they will run up and down.
The one in pic really hurted badly. Scary when saw the X-Ray. Hope he is ok by now.

Mich,

just because he smiled doesn't mean anything until he gets home. hope he learned his lesson, though!

Superman,

he was discharged the day after the operation. yeah, the pictures were scary, weren't they?

it would b a nightmare if it were to happen within the family. accidents like these r avoidable but will kids ever listen?

doc said...

Beng,

kids will be kids; noisy, disobedient & devilish but still, the love of our lives!

That's quite deformed. I hope the kid's all right now.

And yes, God did make parents for a reason.
