quality control

the quality control people are at the hospital to assess, what else, the quality of the service provided by the hospital. for these 3 days, they'll scrutinse everything - from correctly filling of forms, signing of important documents, safe dispensing of medication & proper provision of healthcare by all levels of staffing. even the kitchen & waste disposal won't be spared the surveillance.

the ward is extremely efficient today. extremely. the staff are looking busy at their stations or with patients, no one is having coffee in the pantry, the floor is squeaky clean & the corridors are cleared of clutter (i wonder where they managed to store them).

this is too good to be true!

maybe it's because i overheard the sister barked this morning : i don't care how you do it but for these three days, you better do everything the proper way!!

i should relish this while the survey is ongoing because by friday, i fear it'll be just another day at the office.

If only the QC officers are stationed there permanently. Then again, maybe not.

wakakaka same thing happened in ours too! the nurse were SUPER NICE to us. as compared to normal days. Instead of, "MS, MOVE ASIDE!", they were, "can you discuss your studies in the discussion room, please?"

Are they as efficient when there's no QC assessment? ;)

Iml,

that's like having police patrol permanently on the highway to deter speeding. then, we do it because we have to, not because we want to.

Medie,

enjoy that while it lasts - which is not very long!

MT,

ha ha, it's like the office workers being efficient only when the boss is around.

This is the best time to see the doctors - top treatment with a smile! :) If only it would last more than 3 days .....

Ilene,

don't be surprised (or rather shocked!) if the doctors decide to charge you extra for the smile!!

aiyo... when those QC are there... only seniors student nurse will be allowed for posting.. the juniors will be send back to college for that particular period of time... guess they are worried that the juniors might do something funny...

and again... during QC's are there... omg.... no eye see... cause most of the staff nurse will be pretending to be so good to patients... no gossip's heard abt patients.. and everything are just so efficient and good... hahaha

Were doctors' offices spared the surveillance? How come you had the time to blog?

Something occured to me moments ago. Does your doctor handwriting look as legible as your blog writings?

Yvonne,

the doctors' offices are not part of the QC process - this is a hospital matter.

my handwriting is reasonably legible unless i write fast.
