The exam starts today. I sat for its predecessor, the HSC, when it was in English.
I didn't feel I had prepared well for it & I remember I had a particularly torrid time with the Biology papers. The results certainly reflected that sentiment.
How I ended up doing Medicine is a rags to riches story.
Just take my word for it - zero to hero.

scared to think back those time. Now most of it given back to teacher already
Small Kucing,
STPM (or HSC as it used to be called) was definitely the toughest school exams I have ever sat. But I still try to tuition the kids on the maths & science subjects. Sometimes I am overwhelmed.
Never took the Msian HSC but I heard from friends that it was tough esp the Gen Paper. But these days, kids have more options: either do STPM or A-Levels or Foundation year or Diploma. Nonetheless, nothing comes easy. It is all hardwork.
Wow that was unusual. I just wrote an extremely long
comment but after I clicked submit my comment didn't appear.
Grrrr... well I'm not writing all that over again. Regardless, just wanted to say excellent blog!
I hope one day you would tell us about how you ended up doing Medicine if you did not get good results in HSC Biology.
Andrea,
I have no doubt the HSC of those days is the toughest of all pre-U exams.
Mun,
one day indeed.
FYI, many UK universities do not require biology as requirement for doing medicine, but chemistry & physics are mandatory.
