history has rich examples of people who has gone down the slippery slope - from a position of respect & esteem, only to plunge into the pit of depravity. from perfection to sin.
we all know about adam & eve, & king saul from biblical times.
currently, it's the ex-health minister & the judiciary, & in the last decade, an democrat ex-US president & a string of japanese ex-prime ministers.
but, yesterday, I fell from grace.
and i'm encouraged that no one has yet casted the 1st stone.
Have mercy on me, O God,
according to your unfailing love;
according to your great compassion
blot out my transgressions.
Wash away all my iniquity
and cleanse me from my sin.

i committed a serious error of judgment & caused some distress to those around me.
we've put it behind us now & all is forgiven.
Acknowledged the mistake, apologised, make admendments then move on. That is what learning from mistake is all about. Glad it's over.

That doesn't make it right, it just makes it such that God's love for you is so much more than His love for the one who did not sin.
It's great that you have righted the situation so quickly and set yourself right before God again. =)
Sometimes, some of us (read: "I") fall and take ages to right (myself) ourselves again.

We all fall from grace, some more than others. This is where the way we do church comes in. Is the church a home for sinners or a hospital for sinners?
I am more for hospital where we sinners can come for treatment (conviction, confession, repentance, inner healing, reconcialiation etc). Some wounds run deep. Praise God that Jesus is the Great Physician.

Yesterday, a colleague committed a grave mistake to another and the latter was harshly judging her and I reminded her to forgive, saying no one is perfect...a reminder that these "fall from grace" incidents happen everywhere and to any one

Everyone makes mistakes. I'm sure God forgives you when you repented. Others may need more time. But most importantly, you have to forgive yourself.

yes, that's true - sometimes to forgive oneself is harder that accepting God's mercy.
