CG retreat : port dickson
it was SS's idea that we should have a retreat during the deepavali weekend, & for some strange reason, he ended up organising it. but he did a sterling job of it - with a car treasure hunt thrown in. we started off on sunday morning & after several stops to search for clues, finally reached Port Dickson in time for lunch...
after checking & settling in at the Guoman....
we headed for the ostrich farm 10mins' drive from the hotel. the kids really had a great time here, eg. patting the animals....
taunting the ostriches....
having a ride on one....
pony-riding...
& they'll do stuff to entertain themselves....
back at the hotel, everyone brought a little something for tea....
while the kids frolicked at the beach...
& later adjourned to the pool..
seafood dinner at a nearby restaurant....
was followed by our very own sunday worship & sharing. after breakfast the next day, most of the others stayed back for extended check-out while we made our way to the MPH warehouse sale. & we're happy with our plunder....
here's when i realised the wife may have more common sense than i - why have thai food at a restaurant in SS2....
when you can glorious penang hawker fare & much cheaper, too!!

Kyels,
the place was ok but it was the fellowship that counted more than anything else.

went to PD with my family..
but was a boring one...
but i definitely love the food there la..
:P

as though eating seafood in penang by the seaside
Mich,
the ostrich farm is just 5 min's drive towards the town centre, going from Guoman.
the seafood was only so-so.
There was an MPH sale that weekend?!! WHAT?! *cries*

i stayed at the marina beach resort..
oh i didnt eat the one near the temple..i ate the one opposite..
cheap and yummy.. licking finger good! lol
Anastasia,
yeah, there was, for 10 whole days! everything at least 30% off, but then i thought you would have known that - weren't you in KL recently?
tut, tut!
Mich,
Guoman is a bit out-of-town but i can't exactly describe where it is. i suppose if you come from KL, the food in PD would be relatively cheaper.
reasonable la..
not cheap...
haha...
u are not from kl meh?
Bought Cecil Ahern's "If YOu could see me now." at this sale.
This is her third book I have read. Yeah, bought and read already.
Did you buy?
Mich,
i'm not from KL.
Just me,
my daughter wanted that one as well as Thanks for the Memories. i suspect she'll lend to her friends after she's finished with them.
no no...
i spot something..SS2...
i spot MV~the gardens..
not in kl then wat?? tsk tsk..bad bad.. :P
Mich,
i go with the family to KL on some weekends, just to enjoy the malls, food & book sales!!
If " you could see me now"... trying to get my boy to read that.
Try reading " where rainbows end" ...gives hope to the older generation with a romantic streak.
Just me,
i read the synopsis & it does sound interesting, but i still have Archer's The 4th Estate & Prisoner of Birth yet to read.
