a boy will always be a boy

it's almost 2 weeks since he broke his forearm. the other day, we went to the park for a walk but when we reached the children's playground, he let his juvenile instincts loose....
in the last picture, he got his just reward for agreeing to walk with me - keropok lekur to take-away. i shan't upload pictures of him kicking the ball at home, on tiled floor, lest you think i'm a bad parent.  :P

UG,

i guess it's ok to mess around at the playground but he still kicks the ball around the house where there's not much grass.

let kids, boys/girls have their fun when they are KIDs. But won't the mummy freaks out when the son kicks the ball around in her living room ?

I climb trees when I was little girl, my mother freaks out & 'chased' us with a cane when we don't listen. It was FUN.

Medie,

he has his own whims & fancies; while he likes sports like football, badminton & table tennis, he doesn't like walking. so when he agreed to walk with me that day, i just felt like giving him a treat. however, i accept that he may not want to do that again.

MissyC,

he kicks a plastic ball in the house while he uses the football outside the compound.

being without a sibling at home, he needs some kind of outlet to release energy, so besides kicking the ball around, he bats the ping-pong ball against the wall & throws the tennis ball up the staircase for it to bounce downwards where he catches it.

little lonely boy, so we do cut him a lot of slack.

You lured him with the promise of free treats!

Yvonne,

no, i didn't promise him but when he goes to the park with me, i would often get him a pack of keropok lekur because he likes that with dinner.

*LOL* Looks like I have got a buddy with a broken arm too. I can't wait for my cast to come off next week.

Unfortunately, I dun get any keropok lekor when I go to the park.

The last time I went, I had very much older folks advising me to buy Anlene (WTH!!!) and mothers telling their hyper kids not to climb and jump otherwise "you will have broken arm like aunty". Cheesh!

Andrea,

my boy's cast comes off next week as well & he plans to keep it for posterity!

the older folks meant well because anlene has a high-calcium formula & they are a reputable brand. unfortunately, those mothers are just over-cautious & using you as an example is a hit below the belt.
