so, there're over 9000 top scorers with straight 10As for the 2010 SPM exam....(don't know about it? don't worry, the self-aggrandisation report will be splashed all over the media tomorrow)
so, that's many, many more than the 7000 plus top scorers the year before....
so, there'll be rush for scholarships....(& many students & their parents will be disappointed.)
so, i wonder how many will remain unemployed (or unemployable) after graduating?
same old, same old...

Really WTF. In the 80s and early 90s, there were only one or two students in the whole country who scored 8A1's in SPM, and the 5A's in STPM didn't even exist every year!
Don't expect so much from scholarships.. better save up money now for our kids..
That 2nd last line will be the determining factor. Not the number of As.....

yeah, in those days, there were only a handful of 9As scorers. my friend the retired secondary school teacher told me the current pass mark for Add Maths is 20%. presumably it's equally easy to get an A+

Ha Ha! Come to think about it, I was lucky that my parents were not hard on educating me. I was mostly left to my own device. Or I'd be unemployable.
Well, I knew from very early on that my civil servant parents can't provide for my private (and was hoped to be) overseas education with such low salary and high living cost. Thus, I set my mind on getting a scholarship in 1995 (9 yrs old!)... I went through primary and sec school having that aim in mind. Imagine if I didn't get it.. I might go crazy!! HAHAHAHA

Or maybe it's the fact that I was close to Aunt Ivy. She never pressured me to study or remind me to finish my homework. But she was a university graduate (in those days, uni graduates are a special breed) and that must have rubbed onto me unconsciously.
