a caring heart

went to the nursing home to see how my father was getting on. he's been there for 2 weeks & seemed to have settled in nicely. the skin sutures have been removed & he moves around on a wheelchair now. the helpers normally feed him his meals, but when we are there, my mum would do that. however, we were pleasantly surprised by the boy's caring gesture....

before we left, i asked him to offer a prayer for kung-kung & he did that without hesitation. & as if to prove that wasn't a flash in the pan, he even volunteered this as well...

i have to say i'm totally overwhelmed by this display of concern & responsibility. & you know what? i couldn't have done better myself.

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. "Honor your father and mother"—which is the first commandment with a promise— "that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth." ephesians 6:1-3

AT,

our family is truly blessed to have him & we thank God for him. on the premise of eph 6:1-3 alone, i know he will live to a ripe old age helping others.

We've got a lot to learn in life..even from little kids.

You & Mrs Doc have brought him up well.

Will keep your dad in my prayers for a blessed recovery.

God bless!

Hi Doc, thats a very heart warming picture, your son helping, caring for grand dad.
I'm sure grand dad appreciated it....made his day.
Not many young kids will do that.
Hope your dad is doing well.

You keep well, Doc, best regards, Lee.

Uncle Lee,

i know the boy is special. my rather rarely smiles after being afflicted with parkinsonism, but he managed to get my father to break into a wide grin when he talks/jokes/shows childish antics during our visits.

you keep well, too,& please continue to keep us all amused with your adventures (tall tales??)
