spent the weekend in s'pore & stayed at my brother's place in yishun. there's a thai restaurant conveniently located just across the road. well, to be frank, it wasn't anything exceptional....
the pineapple rice looked ordinary...so did the claypot taufu & sotong kangkong....
as well as the honey chicken & garlic fish slices..........
but after a tedious drive & when you're having dinner at 8.30pm, everything looked sumptuous. what's remarkable was that with most tables occupied, the food came freshly prepared in 15mins. not to mention the bill for 5 dishes plus the rice came up to only $36. but this became secondary when cousins who stay apart get to play games together...
the main reason we went down was to catch up with the girl. & bless her heart, she remembered the wife's birthday & even got her a gift...
surely she desires to fulfill the commandment, the one with a promise....
"Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you."
exodus 20:12

She is well loved!
Claire,
thanks.
having stayed there twice so far, i find the neighbourhood not very crowded, with many conveniences plus a shopping mall (northpoint) & MRT station.
& i'm just getting used to driving around s'pore without GPS!!
Iml,
yes, we all love her to bits!!
Oooo...love the birthday present! So nice...and such beautiful words!!!
STP,
that's why we were so pleased - away from home on her own & yet she found time to get something so meaningful!
we all love her to bits!!
You're right, the food looks normal only, but I guess when you're hungry, food is food!
The chess game so kesian, left one black pawn only. Must give chance mah hehe
Adino,
what impressed me about the restaurant was that service was super-fast despite the crowd, & the price was super-reasonable.
the boy has a ruthless streak, hasn't he? but they really enjoyed the game. they played boggle as well.
for cousins that only meet occasionally, they clicked pretty well.
