We Will Rock You is currently playing at the esplanade theatre, & as i happened to be in town
i took the girl along to see live this critically-acclaimed West End production featuring the hit songs of the now defunct rock icon of the 80s.
we were not disappointed - the talented international cast, stunning costumes, sets & lightning all combined to deliver a spectacular evening & made me go ga-ga! the male lead MiG Ayesa, a finalist from the reality show Rock Star : INXS, has a truly magnificent voice - load him with steroids & give him a moustache & he would pass for a credible Freddie impressionist.
at my age & inclination, this is probably the closest i will ever get to a pop concert. Bohemian Rhapsody truly rocks!! now that we're home, the girl is hunting high & low for my queen CD.

OMG, you have written the best blog about WWRY. I am one of those OLD Queen fans, and currently a big fan of MiG. Too funny with your description but you are right, MiG's is one of the few people who can do justice to the songs that Freddie sang.
Great review Doc! While you look for your Queen CD, I hope that you will add a MIG's debut CD to your collection, It is now available in Singapore and it is a wonderful blend of covers done with luch orchestratiions and 3 songs that MIG cowrote and sings.I htink you would really enjoyu it. It is entitled MiG. I have been a nurse for 35 years and understand what you mean about having an outlet to vent steam.

If music stores are sold out and you don't want to wait to special order it, I bet you could pick up a copy at the Esplanade merchandise stall! Heh, you might even run across MiG there if it is after the show! Not that I am prejudiced, but it is a beautiful album, especially the original songs.

at the merchandise stall, i only saw the WWRY CD & other like paraphernalia, although i didn't specifically asked for MiG's CD.
i'll check out Amazon & other online wendors then.
Ah, maybe it sold out like it did in New Zealand. Amazon is good, as is iTunes. Also, maybe some of the HMV's still have some in stock. Thanks for the interest in my fav rockstar!!!!
