she did everything herself.
from obtaining the application form, to filling it up & photostating the various documents. my role was to post it off.
& to give her my full support.
yesterday, she went for the written tests & today, the interview. when they offered her a place, she cried. i thought they were tears of joy but no, she was overwhelmed with sadness.
because she realised she will be leaving home.
i can understand her position. i was already 19 when i left home for varsity. for all her maturity she has displayed at 15, she's still our little girl. when she makes her decision in the next few days & when the impact of the offer has finally sunk in, she knows she has come to the 1st of many crossroads in life.
ah, such a heavy responsibility on a young shoulder....

It's times like these where bonding become stronger and when the time comes for the little one to leave her nest, it's the most difficult time for both child and parents, mum especially.

HI Doc, is your girl leaving home for asean scholarship? and she is only 15? as parents, we know that one day our children will leave home.. and as kids, i m sure they feel heavy hearted too as well.. perhaps this is God's plans for her..

thanks, & you're right - the wife is reluctant to let her go. it's difficult for me as well, but this one is too good to pass up.

i'm certain the Lord opened this path for her. she didn't get the asean scholarship but it was Methodist Girls School that offered a place for next year.
being in a Christian school environment & in S'pore at that, i know she will be well-taken care off. she'd be all mushy at 1st, & knowing her, she'll have a ball of a time once she get used to the hectic life.
it'll be good training ground to walk closer to the Lord & hopefully to serve Him.

I think kids need to leave the house to grow. If not, they will never get to know how the world outside the house. It is a good chance for them to learn to be independent as well. Doc, don't worry. She will get use to the new life soon.
there's a part of me which wants to scream "don't do it," but...
MGS is a good school, and perhaps sg will give her good exposure as she takes steady steps towards her future.
